Ohio Wesleyan University held its 173rd commencement ceremony on May 13, 2017. The OWU Class of 2017 included 383 spring, summer, and fall graduates, with students representing 20 countries from Afghanistan to Venezuela. Capping off a day-long Celebration of the Liberal Arts at Wittenberg University, the campus community came together to celebrate the achievements of students and faculty members alike at the annual Honors Convocation, Friday, April 7, in Weaver Chapel. The faculty commemorated the occasion in full academic regalia as the university recognized high achievement of students and faculty members in academic and co-curricular activities.
Nearly 60 Ohio Wesleyan University students spent spring break participating on one of OWU's seven Interfaith Service teams. Chad Johns, director of the Interfaith Service program, said the student-created teams incorporate "intentional service and reflection with people of diverse faiths, philosophies, and perspectives [to] deepen our understanding of ourselves and each other, even as we work to improve the world around us."
Over 80 students participated in the 16th Annual Dance Marathon at Baldwin Wallace University. Dance Marathon is the largest philanthropy organization on campus. Lasting 12 hours, the marathon consists of performers, dancing and HIV/AIDS education. All proceeds are donated to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which seeks to educate and reduce the the transmission and cases of pediatric AIDS worldwide.

A distinguished group of students at Baldwin Wallace University has reached BW's pinnacle of academic honor society achievement with Fall 2014 induction into the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society. Less than four percent of the undergraduate student body achieves membership in the society.
A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University staged "All Shook Up" during the fall 2015 semester. Directed by Scott Spence, the show combined the legendary music of Elvis Presley with a rollicking and funny book by Broadway veteran Joe DePietro. "All Shook Up" was one of an extensive number of opportunities offered by the Baldwin Wallace music theatre program providing students with real-world performance experience.

Talented students are mesmerizing audiences once again with "West Side Story" at BW's John Patrick Theatre. From the first note to the final breath, "West Side Story" soars as the greatest love story of all time, and remains as powerful, poignant and timely as ever. The co-production with the BW Conservatory of Music's Music Theatre Program and Department of Theatre and Dance runs November 9-12 and 16-19 at 7:30 p.m. and November 13 and 20 at 2 p.m.
More than 400 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall earned $5.2 million dollars in merit scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year. Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $41 million in financial support from the University for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Local students were awarded scholarships at Denison University.
